GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS

The Occupational Training Center is proud to be a certified government contractor under the Ability One Program. Of all our contracted services, the Ability One Program is the most beneficial to both the individuals who work and train in our programs and the general public. Under this program, our clients are paid wages based on the prevailing federal wage determination and are provided a stipend towards the purchase of health and welfare benefits. As a result, adults once dependent on programs such as Social Security and Medicaid are able to become independent, tax paying citizens within their communities.

The Ability One Program targets product and service contracts within the federal government for transfer to non-profit agencies which provide job training and employment for individuals with disabilities.

The O.T.C. also has custodial contracts with the state of New Jersey and Burlington County. The first state contract was awarded in 1989 to clean one floor of the Hughes Justice Complex and has since grown to six large office complexes in Trenton which includes in part, the State Departments of Labor, Health and Agriculture. Burlington County awarded the OTC a contract in May of 2011 to clean 26 county buildings. The contract provides janitorial positions for over 30 individuals with disabilities.

In 1994, the O.T.C. secured its first Award One program when awarded a contract for food services at the then Falcon Dining Hall on McGuire AFB. The program, which today provides job training to more than 34 individuals with disabilities, is the single largest Award One contract in New Jersey.

The O.T.C. was subsequently awarded custodial contracts for the Camden and Trenton Federal Courthouse Buildings. In 1995, officials at McGuire AFB who were pleased with the work at food services, awarded contracts for custodial services at McGuire's Daycare Center and instituted a basewide recycling program which was awarded to the OTC. An additional custodial contract at McGuire AFB was awarded to the O.T.C. in January, 1996 and in 2006 the O.T.C. was awarded a janitorial contract to clean all barracks and buildings on Ft. Dix Military Installation.

The O.T.C. further expanded its job training diversity when awarded an Ability One contract for Clerical Support Services at the General Service Administration's (GSA) Northeast Distribution Center in Burlington Township.
