State Custodial Work Program

The O.T.C. secured it's first janitorial contract with the state in 1989. Initially, the O.T.C. cleaned one floor of the Hughes Justice Complex. The state contract at Hughes later expanded to include four floors of the eight story building.

In 1991, the O.T.C. was able to secure an additional custodial contract with the state when we were awarded a contract to clean John Fitch Plaza, which encompasses the State Departments of Labor Health and Agriculture.

Trainees working on state contracts receive transportation to and from their job sites. Daily duties include trash collection, dusting, restroom cleaning, floor care maintenance and vacuuming.

Wages are based on time studies which measure the trainees productivity rate.
