Employment Services Overview
OTC Services, a vocational training center, plays a crucial role in empowering adults with disabilities in our local community. We are dedicated to assisting them in acquiring essential life skills, overcoming barriers to employment and excelling in occupational disciplines. Annually, we extend vocational training and job placement services to over 500 individuals facing physical, mental and emotional disabilities. Our mission revolves around fostering the skills necessary for success in the workforce, enabling these individuals to construct brighter futures for themselves and contribute positively to their communities.
Benchwork: Assembly, Packaging, and Fulfillment
The OTC assembly, packaging, and fulfillment services are housed within the expansive 52,000 square feet of the main OTC facility in Burlington Township. Consumers undergo thorough training in packing, sorting and assembling a diverse range of products for subsequent delivery and shipping. Tasks encompass various manual dexterity activities, including folding, gluing, collating, weighing, counting, shrink-wrapping and similar operations. Throughout the training process, dedicated job coaches are consistently present on the floor, offering continuous supervision to OTC consumers. Our emphasis is on cultivating an environment that fosters pride and friendliness, concurrently enhancing work habits and productivity. To access this service, a DVRS referral is mandatory. Janitorial and Boiler Operations
The OTC provides custodial opportunities through contractual arrangements with federal, state, and local government facilities. Including offices, courthouses, police stations (for both state police and local departments), a 911 Call Center, the Joint Base, and additional offices. Our services extend to 360+ buildings across southern New Jersey, with two more located in Pennsylvania.
Clients at the OTC receive comprehensive training in various custodial skills, encompassing vacuuming, floor care, dusting, trash collection, restroom cleaning and other maintenance tasks. Each team collaborates with a highly trained supervisor who ensures thorough oversight of each worker, emphasizing the highest standards of safety.
Food Service
For almost thirty years, OTC team members have worked closely with Air Force Personnel to deliver exceptional food service at the Halverson Hall facility. Participants acquire diverse skills such as dishwashing, stocking, bussing tables and custodial services. Individuals under this contract are responsible for upholding sanitation and janitorial standards at the Halverson Dining Facility, providing meals annually to both military personnel and civilians.
Recycling Operations
The OTC recycling department educates proficient workers in curbside collection, sorting and baling for shipment to recycling mills nationwide. Participants operate under the guidance of crew leaders who uphold strict safety standards and ensure exceptional quality control.
Supported Employment
The Supported Employment (SE) service aids individuals with disabilities in obtaining and sustaining competitive integrated employment. Our job coaches collaborate with individuals to evaluate their skill sets, goals and vocational history, tailoring a service to meet individual needs. The process encompasses job searching, interviewing, coaching and ongoing follow-up. OTC partners with DVRS to deliver this service.

1. Does OTC provide transportation to job sites?
OTC can offer transportation for clients engaged in our vocational training services; however, availability is limited. It’s important to note that transportation is not guaranteed for every job site. For further details, please consult with the Vocational Evaluator.
2. How old do I have to be to enroll into the vocational training services?
To participate, individuals must be at least 18 years old and no longer enrolled in school.
3. What do I need to get started in your training services?
If you’re joining our vocational services, we need a document proving your disability. It should be on letterhead, signed and dated by a specialist who diagnosed you and is authorized to do so. This paper should clearly talk about your disability, how it affects your daily life and work, any help you might need and any medications you take. 4. Do I need work experience to be hired in your training services?
You don’t need work experience to join us. In fact, many people start their first job with us! We give all the training and support you need to be successful and achieve your best.
5. Do I need Medicaid to be able to receive services?
You do not need to receive Medicaid to enroll in our vocational services.
